Marte Grabs Player of the Week Honors

Jefry Marte has been named Texas League Player of the Week for July 7th - 13th. Marte hit .520 in six games, including a 5-for-5 night and a pair of walk offs last week to lead the RockHounds during a season high nine game winning streak. The nine game wining streak marked the longest win streak for the RockHounds since August of 2011 when they won eight straight.
Marte was acquired by the A's in December of 2012 from the New York Mets for outfielder Collin Cowgill and played for the World Team in the All-Star Futures game in 2011.
The RockHounds continue their short four game road trip in Corpus Christi on Monday night when Chris Jensen faces David Rollins at 7:10 PM. The RockHounds return to Security Bank Ballpark on Thursday to start an eight game home stand against San Antonio and Frisco.
Jason Adam was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
