Saskatoon Blades News Release
Saskatoon, Sask. - Saskatoon Blades' associate coach Ryan Marsh has been named to Hockey Canada's coaching staff for the 2019 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge taking place in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Swift Current, Saskatchewan in November.
Marsh is one of nine coaches selected by Hockey Canada to make up the coaching staff for their three rosters at the tournament. The native of Quesnel, British Columbia, recently completed his first season in Saskatoon as the Blades associate coach. This will be Marsh's second tour of duty with Hockey Canada; his first as an assistant coach with Team Canada Red at the 2016 World U-17 Challenge.
"It's exciting and I'm truly honoured to be chosen for this event," explained Marsh. "I had a really good experience in 2016, I'd say it was one of the top three experiences in my coaching career. It's such a great program not only for the young players to develop but for the coaches to work together and develop as well."
Ryan Marsh is the second Blades' coach to be named to the national team coaching staff; head coach Mitch Love was announced as an assistant coach for Team Canada's next world junior squad earlier in May.
