Marlies Invite All To Experience Canada's Game

The Toronto Marlies, a proud member of the American Hockey League, announced today that they will be hosting 'Hockey for All' at their home opener on Sunday, October 4 against the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - at Ricoh Coliseum. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., the puck drops at 4:00 p.m.

'Hockey For All' aims to educate, entertain and inspire those unfamiliar with the game of hockey. Prior to the game, fans will have the chance to get an autograph from members of the Leafs Alumni, and to visit a number of hockey-themed displays and exhibits. Post-game, fans can enjoy interactive on-ice demonstrations and hockey-themed videos. Fans can also take part in a "Learn to Skate" clinic presented by BMO Bank of Montreal featuring instructors from Skate Canada and Hockey Canada. Fans are invited to bring their skates or rent them free of charge following the game.

Celebrities on hand for autographs and a Q&A session after the game include Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke, Leafs and Marlies players and broadcaster Parminder Singh who will commentate for CBC's Hockey Night In Canada in the Punjabi language in 2009-10.

The Marlies open the 2009-10 regular season on Sunday, October 4 against their division-rivals, Hamilton at Ricoh Coliseum at 4 p.m. Sunday's game will air live on Rogers TV Cable 10 in Toronto and 63 in Scarborough.
