Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies earned three out of a possible six points this past weekend in games against Western Conference opponents.

On Friday, Toronto traveled to Copps Coliseum in Hamilton where they dropped a 4- 1 decision against the Bulldogs. Jake Gardiner scored the lone goal for the Marlies while Ben Scrivens took the loss in net.

In the second half of their home-and-home with Hamilton on Saturday, Toronto earned a 5-0 shutout victory over the Bulldogs. Greg McKegg opened the scoring with his first goal of the season 51 seconds into the game. Leo Komarov also scored his first career AHL goal. Jussi Rynnas stopped 31 shots for the shutout.

In their third game in as many nights, Toronto dropped a matinee matchup with Grand Rapids - AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings - on Sunday. With the game tied 3-3 after overtime, the Griffins capitalized on all three shots in the shootout to pick up the victory.

Look Ahead:

Toronto will now embark on an eight-game road trip, starting on Friday night in Hamilton. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.

This will be the third meeting between the two clubs so far this season. The teams split the first two games, with Toronto outscoring Hamilton 6-4 over that span.

The Marlies will continue their road trip with seven more games against Abbotsford (2), Houston, Texas, San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Hamilton.
