Evansville Thunderbolts News Release
Evansville, IN. Rory Rawlyk, the captain of the Evansville Thunderbolts, is known well for his defensive prowess and leading the blue line. However, tonight would see his first goal as a Thunderbolt, and the lone goal for the team as the Thunderbolts fell 2-1 to the Marksmen tonight.
Rawlyk's goal came right after serving a penalty in the second period, as the puck was racing by at the exact moment he was out. Joining him was Scott Donohue, who set up Rawlyk seconds later coming up the slot, firing the shot between the legs of Nathan Perry. Rawlyk's goal at 14:14 was assisted as well by Max Mikowski. Braeden Ostepchuk, another strong player of the night, came up with 32 saves on 34 shots, many in spectacular fashion, bailing out his team time and time again, keeping it only a one-goal game.
The Thunderbolts and Marksmen meet again tomorrow night, at 6pm ET, 5pm CT. You can catch the action on SPHL Live or listen in for free on the Thunderbolts Radio Network, via the official app of the Thunderbolts, EvansvilleThunderbolts.com/Fan-Center/Listen, or on the Thunderbolts MixLr Channel.
