Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport-Bossier Captains released opening day starter Thad Markray yesterday due to right arm tendinitis. The move frees up a roster spot for the Captains, but does not rule out Markray coming back to pitch for Shreveport-Bossier in 2009.
Markray was 3-7 in 11 starts this season with a 5.80 ERA. After a strong start to 2009, the righty from Springhill, La., lost three straight starts despite pitching well, before winning his next two to get back to .500. But Markray has since lost four straight starts and has been bothered by the tendinitis.
While no return date is currently on the calendar, Markray and the Captains hope for a reunion in August.
