
Mark Doren Named Athletic Trainer for the Syracuse Crunch

Syracuse, NY (August 11, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have hired Mark Doren as the Crunch's new athletic trainer.
Doren comes to the Crunch after spending the last two seasons as the athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach for the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
Prior to his stint in Tri-City, Doren spent time with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders (USHL), Quad City Mallards (Former UHL), and Danbury Trashers (Former UHL). Doren is a member of the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society (PHATS), National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Doren, 30, received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Iowa State University and a master's degree in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa in December of 2000.
Doren and his wife, Vanessa, have two children, Carter (4) and Madison (1).
