Bradenton Marauders News Release

Fort Myers, Fla. - The Marauders (26-16, 61-46) and the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (18-25, 52-56) met for the final contest of a six-game series at Hammond Stadium on a hot and humid Sunday afternoon, with real feel temps reaching 116 degrees. Fort Myers splashed out a hearty run total on the way to a confident 14-6 triumph.

Marauders starter and MLB rehabber Max Kranick made it through an inning and a third with five earned runs and three walks allowed. Kranick was charged with the loss.

Bradenton enjoyed the lead for half an inning thanks to Rodolfo Nolasco's solo home run in the first inning as the team leader in jacks blasted his 14th of the year deep to left center field.

Fort Myers responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the opening inning without recording a base hit as an error. Then a groundout put the home side ahead 2-1.

The Mussels grabbed four more runs in the second inning to go up 6-1, with the highlight of the inning being a three-run blast off the bat of nine-hole hitter Yohander Martinez.

Fort Myers kept up the pressure with a two-spot in the fourth, with Luke Keaschall and Rubel Cespedes collecting RBI to make it 8-1 in favor of the Mussels through four.

Bradenton rattled off a run in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to pull back within four runs of the Mighty Mussels. Rodolfo Nolasco homered for the 15th this season in the sixth inning. He grabbed an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the seventh to bring his season RBI total to 55.

Fort Myers scored three runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth and carried a 14-5 lead going into the ninth after Mitch Jebb recorded a sac fly to bring in a run in the penultimate frame.

The Young Bucs managed to plate a pair of consolation runs in the ninth. Still, they were eventually shut down by Samuel Perez to seal the 14-7 win for the Mighty Mussels.

The Marauders return home to LECOM Park to start a season-deciding series with the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Paul Skenes is expected to start the series opener for Bradenton.
