Manchester Wolves howl to a 56-49 victory over Conquest

Albany, N.Y. – The Manchester Wolves defeated the Albany Conquest, 56-49, in an East Division arenafootball2 game on Saturday evening at Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y.

With the score knotted at 49-49, Manchester Wolves QB Jake Eaton found William Ferguson on a game winning 12-yard TD pass with 1:10 remaining. Eaton was 24-of-28 passing for 234 yards with seven TD passes.

The Albany Conquest (0-3) had trailed by a 41-28 margin at the end of the third quarter, but rallied to go ahead 42-41 on QB D. Bryant's two-yard TD run with 9:26 remaining in the game. That score came on the heels of a successfully converted on-side kick by Albany's Marc Samuel. WR/LB Manwell Talbert recovered the on-side kick at Albany's nine-yard line just seconds after Talbert had caught a 14-yard TD pass from Bryant. Bryant rushed for three touchdowns in the game and was 27-of-31 passing for 280 yards with three TD and no interceptions.

Manchester (2-1) took a 49-42 lead on J.J. McKelvey's 18-yard TD reception from Eaton with 5:27 left. Albany's Mikal Akbar's six-yard TD pass from Bryant had tied the game 49-49 with 2:33 remaining.

Albany's Cy Bulter had both a game and career-high 14 receptions for 149 yards with one TD. He also ran the ball six times for 15 yards with one TD earning Offensive Player of the Game honors.

The Albany Conquest will travel to face the South Georgia Wildcats on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Albany Civic Center in Albany, Ga.
