GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Blizzard defeated the Macon Knights 28-18 Saturday night in front of 4,237 fans at the Resch Center. Troy Mason was named the Offensive Player of the Game after catching seven passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

The Knights, who came into the game giving up only one sack all season, were sacked four times. Lionel Hayes struggled to find open receivers and threw four interceptions after beginning his career with three interception-free games.

The Knights rallied late in the second half after being held scoreless the first 38 minutes of the game. Macon got on the scoreboard with 6:30 left in the third quarter as Hayes hit Chris Johnson on an 11-yard touchdown pass. Following a stop by the Knights defense, Hayes found Kendrick Lee on a 9-yard hookup. After a successful two-point conversion, the Knights pulled to within three points of the Blizzard.

The Knights had opportunities to stop the Blizzard offense; however costly penalties and dropped interception chances, allowed Green Bay to keep drives alive. Green Bay closed out the game with a field goal and touchdown sealing the win. The Knights did score on a wild play as Green Bay attempted to drop-kick an extra point. The snap sailed over Henrik Juul-Nielsen's head and his failed-kick attempt was recovered and taken to the endzone by Anthony Collins for two points with 3:35 to play.
