Manatees to conduct fundraiser for Katrina victims

Brevard County Manatees News Release


(Viera, FL) - The Brevard County Manatees, Chocolate Moose, the official concession company of Space Coast Stadium and Via Tuscany Luxury Apartments will conduct a fundraiser for the American Red Cross' Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund on Friday, September 2nd, 2005. Chocolate Moose will donate a portion of proceeds and the Brevard County Manatees will donate numerous items for a large in-game raffle.

"Last year we suffered Mother's Nature's fury and the Red Cross and thousands of Americans came to our aid. It's our turn to help those that have been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina," pointed out Buck Rogers, Manatees General Manager.

Cindy Riggin, Community Manager for Via Tuscany said, "All of us at Via Tuscany Apartments wish to send our prayers and thoughts to the victims and their families following this Hurricane Disaster. We are accepting donations for The Red Cross from anyone who wishes to give at this time."

Via Tuscany Apartments has an on-going fundraiser at their location that will cumulate with a Red Cross blood drive on Saturday, September 24th.

Red Cross officials will be on-hand to accept donations from fans.

Minor League Baseball teams across America and Canada are collectively organizing Red Cross fundraisers in ballparks before the Minor League Baseball season comes to an end this Sunday.
