VIERA, Fla. (July 15, 2015) - The Brevard County Manatees pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Fort Myers Miracle, 3-1, at Space Coast Stadium on Wednesday night.

Tied 1-1 through seven and a half frames, the Manatees pounced on Miracle reliever Tyler Jay. With one out, Omar Garcia tripled into the gap in left center field. Chris McFarland then hit a chopper over a drawn-in infield to bring in Garcia and put Brevard County up 2-1. Jay (0-1) then retired Clint Coulter on a ground out to short, but Garrett Cooper sent a 2-2 pitch up the middle for a single and McFarland scored from second base, 3-1.

After tossing a perfect eighth in relief, Trevor Seidenberger earned the win with a scoreless ninth. Allowing just one hit in his two innings, Seidenberger (3-1) worked around a lead off single from Alex Swim to close out the win.

The Miracle struck for the first run of the game in the third inning. With one out, Chad Christensen lined a single up the middle off Brevard County starter Cy Sneed. With Tanner Vavra at the plate, Christensen took off for second base on a 3-2 pitch and Vavra poked a single into right field. Christensen advanced to third. Zack Granite then hit a line drive over the second baseman's mitt to bring in Christensen, 1-0. Coulter threw out Vavra at second base, ruling the play an RBI fielder's choice for Granite.

The Manatees tied the game with a run in the bottom of the third. With one out, Jose Pena doubled down the third base line against Miracle starter Chih-Wei Hu. Angel Ortega then grounded a single up the middle to put runners at first and third. On the first pitch from Hu, Garcia hit a dribbler to the left side of the infield. Ryan Walker fielded the ball, but had no throw and Pena scored, 1-1.

Hu went six innings in a no decision and allowed just the one run on seven hits with no walks while fanning three. Zack Jones pitched a scoreless seventh in his first relief appearance with the Miracle this season and tallied one strikeout.

Sneed lasted seven innings and surrendered just one run on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

Swim was 3-for-4 with a double.

The Miracle (50-40, 12-8) continue the series on Thursday night with the Manatees (37-51, 8-11) at Space Coast Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. Fans can listen to the action on www.miraclebaseball.com with the "Voice of the Miracle" Brice Zimmerman.
