DENVER - For the second consecutive game, the Mammoth offense struggled as Colorado lost, 15-5, to the Minnesota Swarm at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Mammoth jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first half of the first quarter on goals by Alex Gajic (4:59), Ilija Gajic (5:29) and Brian Langtry (7:30). A short-handed goal by Richard Morgan late in the quarter was the Swarm's lone tally in the first 15 minutes, as Colorado held a 3-1 lead heading into the second.

But in the game's final three periods, the Mammoth offense mustered just two goals and was held to 18 shots on goal.

Ryan Benesch had his first of nine points on the night (3g, 6a) on his goal 1:18 into the second. After a Jed Prossner transition goal just a minute later, Minnesota reeled off four straight tallies, including two in a 19-second span from forward Callum Crawford (4g, 5a), to take a 6-4 lead into halftime.

Jamie Shewchuk's team-leading 14th goal of the season just 64 ticks into the second half would end up as Colorado's last score of the game. The Swarm scored three straight in the third, and all six in the fourth, to defeat the Mammoth for Minnesota's first win in franchise history over Colorado in its sixth attempt.

With the loss, Colorado falls to 2-2 on the road and 2-5 overall this season. The teams will play each other again next Saturday night in their third and final meeting of the regular season at 7pm at Pepsi Center on Wild West Night. Tickets are on sale now.
