Mammoth Back to Canada, Seeking Third Straight Win

Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - On Saturday night, the Colorado Mammoth (3-5) faces off against the Vancouver Stealth (2-5) for the teams' third meeting in five weeks. It marks the second time the Mammoth travels to the Langley Events Centre this season. Vancouver enters the contest on a four-game slide, while Colorado is sporting a two-game win streak.
"Well the guys are loose," said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley. "Obviously winning cures a lot of ills, and they are feeling really good about themselves, as they should. They've really responded to a lot of things we've tried to do and it's really a positive thing right now."
So too is the team's goaltending.
"Dillon (Ward) has been really good for us the last two, three weeks," said Hamley. "I think those combinations have really helped us get onto the right side of the (win) column."
Ward limited the Minnesota Swarm to four goals in the second-half of last week's victory.
"We've got a bit of a roll going on right now, with back-to-back wins and the team's feeling pretty confident," said the 22-year-old goaltender.
The return of forward Casey Powell, who racked up three goals and six assists in his season-debut against Minnesota, gives Colorado an added dimension it lacked in the two previous meetings against Vancouver.
"Fortunately for us he is in our line-up," said Colorado's head coach. "We missed him the first part of the season. Credit to him - he didn't have a training camp, he practiced Friday night with us, and away he went and really helped with our power-play and our offense."
The Mammoth moved forward Dean Hill to the Active Roster from the team's Practice Player List. Mat MacLeod returns as well after a stint on the Injured Reserve List.
The game will air live at 8pm MT on The Lacrosse Network on YouTube and will be shown on tape-delay on Altitude Sports on Sun., Feb. 9 at 7:00pm MT.
