Toronto Rock News Release
TORONTO, ON - Toronto Rock games will sound a little different to fans at Air Canada Centre following tonight's matchup against the Philadelphia Wings. Rock in-game host Sarah Davis will make her final appearance in the role this evening as she has landed a job at the New England Sports Network (NESN).
"My time with the Rock has been an absolute blast," exclaimed Davis. "Everyone working behind the scenes, the players and all the fans welcomed me with open arms. We've had lots of laughs at the games and I don't know if I'll ever be able to recreate the "Pizza Pizza Minute of Madness" reaction anywhere else. Rock fans love their free pizza."
Davis is a seasoned veteran when it comes to her role as a sports broadcaster. She's worked on-air at several national networks including the Fight Network and Rogers Sportsnet most recently. Leaving for Boston and a major U.S. television market is a testament to her drive, passion and quality of work as a broadcaster.
"NESN and Bostonians are so incredibly passionate about their sports," explained Davis. "I cannot wait to be surrounded by people just like me. It's a new chapter in my career and NESN is the perfect place for me to grow as a sports broadcaster as they are currently expanding their programming and I'm excited they have asked me to be a part of it."
Tonight, Rock fans will be introduced to new in-game host Mia Gordon who will work together with Sarah to bring the Air Canada Centre crowd to their feet. Gordon has worked for CHCH television and is currently a reporter with Sun News Network.
"We at the Toronto Rock would like to wish Sarah the best of luck," said Rock Owner and President Jamie Dawick. "She has been a great asset to our team and is adored by our fans. We are sad to see her go, but also very excited for her at the same time. Thank you Sarah."
Tickets for Bachly Construction Garrett Billings bobblehead night this evening are still available. The Rock will face Philadelphia tonight at 7:30pm at Air Canada Centre.
