Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that all-star defenseman Mac Allen has been moved to the team's Active Roster from the Physically Unable to Perform List. He has yet to appear in a game this year due to an off-season injury, but is expected to be in uniform this afternoon.
"Mac's return to the line-up could not come at a better time," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "He's healthy and ready to help us win games down the stretch."
Allen, a 26-year-old Toronto native, was an all-star in 2011 and is widely regarded as one of the world's best defenders. He was an all-pro in 2009 with Rochester, and was acquired by the Mammoth in October, 2010 in a trade that also brought forward John Grant Jr. to Colorado.
To make room on the roster, forward Alex Gajic has been placed on the Injured Reserve List.
The Colorado Mammoth (8-3), currently tied with the Calgary Roughnecks for the best record in the National Lacrosse League, takes on the East-Division-leading Philadelphia Wings (7-4) this afternoon at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia at 2pm MT in a rematch of Friday's thriller. Wings forward Brendan Mundorf scored the game-winner with 3.7 seconds left two nights ago at Pepsi Center to propel Philadelphia to a 13-12 win.
The Mammoth will clinch a playoff berth with a win this afternoon, or a Washington Stealth loss this evening to the Minnesota Swarm.
