Mammoth acquire Panos in trade with Anaheim
October 29, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER â The Colorado Mammoth has traded defenseman B.J. Potter and a fifth-round pick in the 2005 draft to the Anaheim Storm in exchange for forward Chris Panos. The trade, announced today by Mammoth general manager Steve Govett, is pending National Lacrosse League approval.
Panos, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound native of Medford, N.Y., is a veteran of 89 NLL games over eight seasons.
"Chris is a solid player with a strong, left-handed shot," Govett said. "He has great experience in the league and I look forward to seeing him play alongside Gary Gait again."
Panos enjoyed a 39-point season (21 goals, 18 assists) in 1998 when he played in 12 games with Gait as a member of the Baltimore Thunder. His best year, statistically, was 2002, when he registered 72 points on 36 goals and 36 assists in 16 games for the Calgary Roughnecks.
Panos, 30, appeared at Pepsi Center earlier this month in the Heritage Cup as a member of Team USA.
