Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards tonight partnered with the Genesis Health Services Foundation to raise $21,500 for the Genesis Flu-Free QC program through a game-worn jersey auction after the Mallards' game against the Fort Worth Brahmas at the i wireless Center.

The Mallards wore special edition Turn "Back-to-Back" the Clock jerseys that mark the fifteenth anniversary of the consecutive championships won by the Mallards in 1997 and 1998. Those sweaters went up for bid in a live auction immediately following the contest. The highest bidding was for the jersey of Mickey Lang, which was auctioned off for $4,200.

"Mallards fans come through year after year to support important programs at Genesis,'' said Ken Croken, vice president of corporate communications, Genesis Health System. "Flu-Free Quad Cities reaches out to more than 9,000 elementary age students who otherwise might not have access to a seasonal flu vaccination. Because of the loyal and generous support of Mallards fans, the Quad Cities are a healthier place to work and live.''

Over the last 18 years, Mallards jersey auctions have raised better than $650,000 to benefit Genesis Health System charities.

Genesis Health System, the Genesis Health Services Foundation, Clinton County Visiting Nursing Foundation and business partners from throughout the region will create an umbrella of flu protection directly to more than 9,000 children each fall and indirectly to thousands more who come in contact with vaccinated children.

In five years, Flu-Free Quad Cities has provided free seasonal influenza vaccinations to nearly 50,000 elementary school students in the region.

The Mallards return to action on home ice tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Denver Cutthroats. All fans attending the Mallards' match-up with the Cutthroats will receive a coupon good for one free bag of popcorn.

Tickets for tomorrow night's game- as well as seats for all remaining Mallards regular season home games- can be purchased in person at the i wireless Center ticket office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The ticket office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
