Madison, Wis. - Madison Mallards (5-3) starting pitcher Sterling Sharp (Eastern Michigan) blanked the Kenosha Kingfish (4-4) in five innings of work, striking out five Kenosha batters and walking one to move to 1-1 on the year and lead the Mallards to a 8-0 win.

He was relieved by Ben Neumann (Northern Illinois) in the sixth, who pitched three innings and gave up just one hit while striking out three. Andrew Buckley (California) came in to finish the Kingfish in the ninth, retiring all three batters he saw. Kingfish starter Connor Kelly (Chandler Gilbert CC) pitched 5.1 innings and gave up two runs on three hits, walking five and striking out three batters to fall to 1-1. Kelly was replaced by Paul Schuster (SIU-Edwardsville) in the sixth inning who have up four runs on four hits. All four of those runs came in the seventh.

Offensively, Robbie Tenerowicz (California) went 3-for-5 with three RBI. The second baseman also scored twice for the Mallards. Designated hitter Spencer Blacksher (Southwest Baptist) was 2-for-3, hitting a two run homer in the seventh to finish with two RBI.

The Mallards return to the "Duck Pond" tomorrow to play the Kenosha Kingfish. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Tomorrow night is MINI of Madison Yoga Night featuring former WWE superstar Diamond Dallas Page.
