Mallards Add Plett and Pair of Rookies

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Tim Plett. Plett has appeared in 118 pro games primarily with the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League. The Mallards also added a pair of rookies as defenseman Henrik Arnstrom and forward Justin Siebold joined the team.

Last season, Plett appeared in 63 Memphis games. The Steinbach, Manitoba native recorded 10 points (five goals and five assists) with 98 penalty minutes in 2005-06. Plett began his stint in Memphis halfway through the 2004-05 season. In 27 games with the 2004-05 RiverKings, he scored 16 points (seven goals and nine assists). Plett began his pro career in 2004-05 with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). He scored 12 points (seven goals and five assists) in 28 SPHL games.

Siebold appeared in 36 games last year with four teams in three minor pro leagues. He debuted with the SPHL's Jacksonville Barracudas. In a five-game stint with the Barracudas, Siebold recorded two points (both goals). He appeared in five games with the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers where he scored a goal with an assist for two points. In two UHL games with the Richmond RiverDogs, the 5-foot-11, 183-pound forward was held pointless. Siebold's year concluded with a return to the SPHL where he appeared in 24 games with the Pee Dee Cyclones. He netted 15 points on five goals and 10 assists with 38 penalty minutes. During the Cyclones' post-season run, Siebold played four games and recorded four points on three goals and an assist.

Arnstrom comes to the Quad Cities after making his North American pro debut with the SPHL Columbus Cottonmouths in 2005-06. Arnstrom recorded 10 points (one goal and nine assists) in 55 games in Columbus. The native of Nacka, Sweden also recorded 68 penalty minutes.

The Mallards roster has 22 players with training camp set to open on Monday at the Quad City Sports Center. Forwards in camp include Chad Woollard, Glenn Detulleo, Patrick Nadeau, Jeff Petruic, Jesse Rycroft, Sean Starke, Drew Otten, Luke Stauffacher, Tim Plett, Travis Granbois, Justin Siebold and Nigel Hawryliw. Defensemen participating in Mallards camp include Jami Yoder, Andrei Lupandin, Brent Currie, Steve MacIntyre, Bryce Charpentier, Marcus Reszka, Henrik Arnstrom and Craig Lazaruk. In goal, the Mallards welcome Jason Tapp back along with newcomer Scott Gray.
