Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
One week removed from a 6-1 loss, the Waterloo Black Hawks took revenge in a rematch with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, winning 4-0 at Young Arena Saturday night.
Will Yanakeff recorded his second consecutive shutout, making 33 saves in the Black Hawks' 30th victory of the season.
Two goals in less than a minute set Waterloo in the right direction. Nick Ebert scored on a three-on-two rush, fed by Tyler Barnes at 13:49 of the first. Just 32 seconds later, Soren Jonzzon banged in a shot when Jamie Hill found him from behind the Cedar Rapids net.
In the second, Scott Wamsganz knocked in a chance from close range at 13:16. On the opposite end of the ice, Jimmy Siers scored on a similar play at 12:17 of the third period.
The Hawks play their last two regular season games next weekend, traveling to Sioux City on Friday, then hosting Team USA Saturday. During Waterloo's final regular season home game, 500 lucky fans will receive a T-shirt from Next Generation Wireless.
