
Make Your Favorite Indians Triple-A All Stars

INDIANAPOLIS -- Help your favorite Indianapolis Indians make it to the 2009 Triple-A All-Star Game by voting online before the Friday, June 26 deadline. Chosen players will represent the International League as they take on the Pacific League All-Stars at PGE Park in Portland, Oregon on July 15th (7:00 p.m. PDT, 10:00 p.m. EDT).
Fan balloting will account for one-third of the total vote along with ballots cast by members of the media and each club's field manager, coaches, and general manager. Fans can access the ballots and vote online at IndyIndians.com.
All fans who participate in the online balloting will be able to vote for players from both the International League and Pacific League rosters. Fans can select their favorite players at each of the infield positions, plus three outfielders, a designated hitter, and four pitchers - two starters and two relievers. Write-in votes for players not listed on the ballot will also be accepted.
Indians' fans can vote for any member of the Tribe roster including, top candidates OF Garrett Jones, RHP Chris Bootcheck, 1B Steve Pearce and C Erik Kratz.
OF Garrett Jones: Entered the week leading Indianapolis in hits (64), doubles (15), home runs (10) and RBI (42), while also being tied for first in batting average (.287) and ranking second in stolen bases (12). Also entered ranked second among players currently in the International League with 42 RBI, while also ranking tied for fourth in hits and tied for fifth in home runs.
RHP Chris Bootcheck: Came into the week with a team best 10 saves to go along with a 3.54 ERA in 24 appearances for the Tribe this season. Entered the week leading all International League hurlers with a 10 to 1 strike out to walk ratio, after amassing 40 strikeouts and just four walks in 28.0 innings pitched this season.
1B Steve Pearce: Entered the week leading the Indians and ranking fourth in the International League with 29 walks, while also ranking first among IL first baseman with 50 double plays turned. Came into the week ranked among the IL's best with a .423 average and 28 RBI with runners in scoring position so far this season. Also entered leading the Tribe in on-base percentage (.357), while ranking second on the club in home runs (9) and RBI (38).
C Erik Kratz: Came into the week leading all active International League catchers, who have played at-least 10 games, in batting average (.287), while also ranking tied for first in hits (37) and tied for second in runs scored (19) among IL leading backstops. Also entered leading all catchers in the International League and all backstops in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization in stolen bases (6).
The 2009 Cricket Wireless Triple-A All-Star Game will be celebrating its 22nd year this season, featuring the top players from Minor League Baseball's top two leagues and will be broadcast to a national television audience live from Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday, July 15, on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. PDT (10:00 p.m. EDT). Fans can vote up to 25 times for their favorite players, but have less than two weeks left to vote for the 2009 Triple-A All-Star game as voting will conclude on Friday, June 26th at 11:59 p.m.
