Yuma Scorpions News Release
A great game last night, as we won 10-1 over Edmonton on "What The Heck Is Up With This Weather Night"! It was cold and windy, but the bats were hot as five Scorpions had at least two hits, with SS Alex Prieto banging out three. Only an unearned run in the 9th prevented the shutout.
Now that the season is well underway, it's time for us in the office to focus even more on helping the community and offering fun to the many groups and organizations around Yuma. Most of the people I've run into around town are a part of one organization or another - sports teams, church youth groups, or non-profits. Everyone is looking to raise funds, and the Scorpions have a great way of doing that.
I'd like to tell you about a simple fundraising plan we offer that has already worked for a few groups this season, and can surely work for you. It's really very simple; we offer you general admission tickets to sell at the face value of $6, for a specific date. Your group sells the tickets at that value, and you keep half of the total. For instance, the Yuma Boy Scouts are selling at least 300 tickets for our game on June 16. In doing that, they will raise $900 for their organization.
There's no candy to buy and re-sell, no standing in front of stores soliciting. The great thing is, you're offering FUN!
I could tell you more about this, but I hope you'll give us a call at 928-257-5700 if you're interested in an easy, fun way to raise money for your organization.
Moving ahead, don't forget we have the first of two "Tijuana Fiesta" series coming June 1-3, as the Cimarrones come to town for the first time. We'll also have two "Faith Night" Christian concerts, on July 10 and August 7 (great fundraising events for church youth groups!), and more promotional nights to come.
Have a great day, and we'll see you at the ballpark!
