Lewiston, ME (QMJHL) - The Lewiston MAINEiacs are starting to click on all cylinders, and it showed on Friday night, when the Val-d'Or Foreurs came to town. After falling behind 2-1, the MAINEiacs scored four straight goals to defeat Val-d'Or 5-2 in front of 2,007 fans at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Four minutes into the first period, the MAINEiacs got the scoring. The puck bounced over Artem Sergeev's stick at the Val-d'Or blueline, allowing Etienne Brodeur to break 2-on-1 with Pierre-Olivier Morin in the other direction. Brodeur fed a pass into the slot to Morin, who snapped a one-timer past Francois Tremblay.

The score stayed that way until the latter stages of the second period, when the Foreurs knotted the game at one. Olivier Archambault centered a pass to Marc-Alain Begin, who held the puck long enough to fake out the Lewiston defense, before finding the top part of the net.

Early in the third period, Val-d'Or took the lead on a power play goal. Olivier Archambault entered the offensive zone and tossed a shot toward the net. The puck deflected off of a body, changed direction, and rung in off of the crossbar.

However, the MAINEiacs weren't about to let their guests rain on their parade. Jess Tanguy's breakaway tally at the 3:29 mark tied the score at two, before Olivier Dame-Malka put the home team ahead 1:42 later with a slap shot. Samuel Henley added to the lead less than five minutes later with a wrist shot over Tremblay's glove, and Dame-Malka put the game away with another blast in the final two minutes.

Nicholas Champion picked up his tenth win in his last eleven starts, making 24 saves on 26 shots for Lewiston. Francois Tremblay suffered the loss for Val-d'Or, allowing five goals on 38 shots.

The MAINEiacs and Foreurs will meet again on Saturday night at 7:00.
