February 17, 2019 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
Elmira Enforcers News Release

The Enforcers come into a Sunday evening matchup looking to salvage three points on the weekend. After losing back to back Pink in the rink nights at each rink, the Enforcers needed something positive to take out of their first ever three games in three nights weekend.

Elmira came out quickly. Within the first five minutes the Enforcers had scored twice with Ahmed Mahfouz and Tyler Prendergast both picking up where they had left off over the past two games. Mahfouz scored first just 3:02 into the game as he took a pass from Stepan Timofeyev and rifled it over the shoulder of Jared Rutledge for the first goal of the game. 1:07 later Elmira tallied again as Prendergast connected with some tic tac toe passing that saw Jackson Tucker get his first point as an Enforcer to give the Enforcers a 2-0 lead.

The second period was dominated by early Watertown efforts as for the third night in a row they doubled their shot efforts from the first period, but the Enforcer picked up their efforts as well putting home another three goals as Mahfouz scored two in rapid succession as nineteen seconds separated the goals giving Mahfouz his second hat trick of the season. Kyle Stevens added one more to remove Jared Rutledge from the game as Elmira closed out the second period with a 5-0 lead.

In the third the Enforcers were content to play keep away as they pursued the victory. Tim Santopaolo cracked the scoreboard for the Watertown Wolves breaking the shutout bid for Troy Passingham at 13:31 of the period. That would be the only score however as Elmira claimed victory 5-1 over the Wolves.

The Enforcers are back at First Arena next weekend as Frankie Littlejohn returns to Elmira for a weekend series with Port Huron starting at 7:05 PM on Friday night. Call 607 734 PUCK for tickets!
