Sioux Falls, SD - With the 2006 CBA Playoffs set to start next week, the Sioux Falls Skyforce is currently in position to win the Western Conference and also be the #1 seed overall.
Listed below are the "Magic Numbers," which represent a combination of the number of quarter-points that the 'Force must win or that the other team must lose in order for Sioux Falls to clinch the Western Conference and the top seed in the round robin playoff format:
Yakama Sun Kings - 4.5 Remaining Schedule:
3/12 vs. Sioux Falls
Gary Steelheads - 7.5
Remaining Schedule:
3/9 @ Michigan
3/11 vs. Michigan
Rockford Lightning - 9.5
Remaining Schedule:
3/9 @ Albany
3/10 @ Albany
3/12 vs. Dakota
The most important spot to clinch for now is the Western Conference title since that guarantees two first round home games. The top seed overall is important also because that will ensure homecourt advantage in the 2006 CBA Finals if they advance past the first round.
