FirstEnergy Stadium - RHP Ryan Madson has been named the Eastern League JP Morgan Chase Pitcher of the Year for the 2002 season.

Madson led the Eastern League in wins (16-4) and was also among the league leaders in strikeouts (132-2nd), ERA (3.20-3rd), innings pitched (171.1-3rd), and complete games (2-5th).

Madson was also the starting pitcher for the National League All-Stars in the 2002 Double-A All-Star Game in Norwich, CT in addition to being named to the Eastern League Baseball Writers Association All-Star Team and the League's post-Season All-Star team.

Akron's Billy Traber, who ended the season in Cleveland, and teammate Brian Tallett finished second and third, respectively.
