Mad Ants Launch Get Fit Challenge

Fort Wayne, IN, September 27, 2010- The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today the launch of the Mad Ants Get Fit Challenge, a program that encourages children and their parents to lead active lifestyles. The Mad Ants have partnered with DeKalb Memorial Hospital, Neuro Spine & Pain, Optimum Performance, and the Indiana Organ Procurement organization to make this program possible.

The Mad Ants' goal through this program is to tackle childhood obesity, a difficult issue in our community. This program will give kids in local schools the opportunity to participate in a fun and challenging fitness program.

Students in participating schools will keep track of their physical activities for one month this season. Kids who have completed 30 minutes of activity outside of school for 30 days will receive a free ticket to a Mad Ants game. The Mad Ants will also host a Get Fit assembly at all participating schools to kick-off the challenge.

The Mad Ants will kick-off the Get Fit Challenge with an assembly at Cedar Canyon Elementary School on Wednesday, September 29th at 1:30pm and one at Cedarville Elementary School Friday, October 1st at 1:40pm.
