Macdonald Earns IHL Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Craig Macdonald of the Bloomington PrairieThunder has been named to the International Hockey League first-team for his performance during the 2009-10 season, league officials announced Wednesday.

Macdonald, a forward, was voted to the six-man squad by coaches, general managers and members of the media. Others joining him on the first-team were Robin Bouchard (forward), Todd Robinson (forward) Matt Krug (defense) of Muskegon; Daniel Tetrault of Port Huron (defense) and Tim Haun of Fort Wayne (goalie).

Macdonald, who was named the Most Valuable Player for the PrairieThunder, led the team in scoring with a career-high 90 points to finish third in the league in overall scoring. He tallied a team-record 44 goals with 46 assists.

He led the league with 11 game-winning goals, and finished second in power play goals with a team-record 16, and second in overall goals. Macdonald also had a team-record three hats tricks and was named the league's Player of the Week five times.

The Milton, Ontario native was one of three PrairieThunder players to take the ice for all 76 games.
