
M-Braves Upend Lookouts in 9th to Remain in 1st Place

Chattanooga, TN - *Mississippi scored four runs in the ninth to come from behind against the Chattanooga Lookouts on Tuesday night, sealing a 6-3 win to maintain their grip on first place in the Southern League South Division.
Trailing 3-2, Ozzie Albies clubbed a solo home run to right to tie the game, his third home run of the year. Two batters later, Dustin Peterson singled and Carlos Franco walked, both moving into scoring position on a Levi Hyams groundout to first. Joey Meneses came through with two outs for a two-run single, making it 5-3, and Connor Lien drove him in with a single to grow the lead to 6-3.
The win was the Braves' (35-28; 69-63) second time in three days to come from behind in the ninth to win. They trailed 4-3 in the ninth on Sunday before Albies clubbed a two-run triple to take the lead.
Phillip Pfeifer (1-0) grabbed the win in relief of starter Max Povse, who allowed three runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings of work. Raul Fernandez (3-2) blew his third save and took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits over 1 1/3 innings. Lookouts (35-29; 71-63) starter Ryan Eades allowed just two runs on seven hits over six innings to take a no-decision.
Chattanooga started the scoring in the second off Povse. DJ Hicks walked, Edgar Corcino singled and Stuart Turner was hit by a pitch to load the bases, setting up on a Tanner Witt one-out single for a 1-0 lead.
The Lookouts added another in the third for a 2-0 advantage. Zack Granite singled and stole second, and Corcino drove him in with an RBI single.
Mississippi tied the game in the fifth. Albies knocked a one-out single, and Peterson followed with an RBI single to make it 2-1. A batter later, Franco doubled to drive home the tying run, 2-2.
Chattanooga took the lead in the seventh when Witt doubled and Granite drove him home with a single.
Caleb Dirks (S, 1) pitched a scoreless ninth for his first save with Mississippi.
With the series tied 2-2, the Braves and Lookouts wrap the series with an afternoon contest on Wednesday, with first pitch slated for 1:15 PM CT. Right-hander Lucas Sims (4-4, 2.52) gets the ball for the Braves against right-hander Felix Jorge (2-4, 4.17) for the Lookouts.
