Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Mississippi got off to an early lead and never looked back in a 12-1 win over the Lookouts in Friday night action at AT&T Field.
Reid Gorecki, Kala Ka'aihue, and Greg Creek each slugged doubles in the first inning to give the M-Braves an early 3-0 lead.
The Lookouts would score their lone run of the evening in the second frame on a Jerry Gil RBI-double to temporarily narrow the Mississippi lead to 3-1.
Mississippi added another run in the third on a Reid Gorecki solo shot and kept the pressure going by scoring two more runs in the fourth on a Reid Gorecki double.
The flood gates opened in the eighth, as the M-Braves plated six more runs to extend their lead, 12-1. A bases-loaded single and subsequent Cody Strait throwing error, which led to three runs, highlighted the rally.
James Parr improved to 2-3 on the season for the M-Braves by throwing six innings and notching nine strikeouts.
Kris Medlen picked-up his first save of the season by throwing the final three frames.
Ramon Ramirez dropped to 2-2 on the season for the Lookouts. In four innings of work, he yielded eight hits and six runs (five earned). He also notched six strikeouts during his outing.
The Lookouts and Mississippi Braves will continue their five-game series, tomorrow at 7:15. The featured promotion for the night will be fireworks, sponsored by Erlanger Health System. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
