
M-Braves Fall 4-3 in Back-And-Forth Battle against Shuckers

Gonzalez homers for second straight game, Harris II hits league-leading 14th double BOX SCORE PEARL, MS - Yariel Gonzalez homered for the second straight game, Jalen Miller made a ridiculous catch against the wall in left field, but the Mississippi Braves came out on the wrong side of a 4-3 game against the Biloxi Shuckers.
The M-Braves (16-21) loss evened the series against Biloxi (18-19) at 2-2.
RHP Darius Vines made his eighth start for the M-Braves, turning in six innings of one-run ball. Atlanta's No. 14 prospect gave up six hits and one walk with seven strikeouts and dropped to a 4.35 ERA on the season. Vines has 50 strikeouts to 14 walks.
In the fourth inning, Michael Harris II smashed a league-leading 14th double into the corner in right field. Drew Lugbauer lined a double down the right field line to bring in Harris II for the first run of the game and his 17th RBI of the season.
Harris II went 2-for-4 with a double, pushing his average to .303 with four home runs and 25 RBI.
Tied 1-1, Gonzalez hammered a two-run homer to the Farm Bureau Grill in right field for the second straight game to retake the lead 3-1. Gonzalez is 7-for-13 with two home runs and three RBI in four games in this series against Biloxi.
With the bases loaded and a 3-1 lead, Thomas Dillard smacked a deep drive out to left field. Miller raced back, leapt and brought down an amazing catch to retire the side. In 630 career games, Miller was playing left field for just the third time in his career.
Riley Delgado extended his hitting streak to seven games with a base hit in the fifth. Delgado is sixth in the Southern League with a .322 batting average.
Biloxi scored the final three runs of the game to win 4-3.
The fifth game of the home series is on Wednesday at Trustmark Park. RHP Tanner Gordon (0-2, 12.19) makes the start for Mississippi against RHP Noah Zavolas (0-0, 2.70) for Biloxi. The first pitch is at 5:50 pm CT, with coverage starting at 6:05 pm CT on 103.9 WYAB, TuneIn Radio, First Pitch App, and MiLB.tv.
