Lynx to Host Janel McCarville Bobblehead Night on August 7

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the nationally televised matchup against reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Elena Della Donne and the Chicago Sky on August 7 will also be Janel McCarville Bobblehead Night. The first 2,500 fans through the Target Center gates will receive an exclusive Janel McCarville bobblehead.

Now in her eighth WNBA season, second with the Lynx, McCarville has started all 28 games she's played this year. The University of Minnesota product is averaging 8.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in 2014, helping the Lynx to a 22-6 record. McCarville scored a season-high 22 points in a victory against Seattle on June 29.

McCarville was the first pick in the 2005 WNBA Draft by the Charlotte Sting and has played for three teams in her WNBA career, including Charlotte, New York and Minnesota. Her career accolades include a WNBA championship in 2013 with the Lynx and the 2007 WNBA Most Improved Player Award in her first year with the Liberty. McCarville has scored 2,063 points and pulled down 1,156 rebounds so far in her WNBA career.
