HARRISON, NJ (March 30, 2014) - Forward Peguy Luyindula's 95th minute goal off a corner kick helped the New York Red Bulls earn a dramatic 1-1 tie against Chivas USA at Red Bull Arena Sunday afternoon. The Red Bulls, which went down after a first half Erick Torres penalty kick conversion, improved to 3 points on a 0-1-3 record with the draw and extended their regular season home unbeaten run at Red Bull Arena to 11 (7-0-4).

The Red Bulls are back in action on Saturday, April 5, as they will face the Montreal Impact at Olympic Stadium at 4:00 PM ET (TV:MSG). New York will return to Red Bull Arena on Wednesday, April 16, when it hosts the Philadelphia Union at 7:30 PM (TV: MSG). Tickets are on sale now by calling 1.877.727.6223 or logging onto tickets.newyorkredbulls.com.

The Red Bulls' first scoring opportunity came in the 10th minute, when Thierry Henry's floated free kicked was headed by a diving Tim Cahill straight into the arms of goalkeeper Dan Kennedy. The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute. Richard Eckersley was called for a foul on Thomas McNamara in the box and Torres stepped up to put it home to make the score, 1-0.

The Red Bulls nearly tied the game seven minutes after the break as Lloyd Sam got to the endline and delivered a low cross that was re-directed off target by Bradley Wright-Phillips. New York dominated the second half, with 11 attempts on goal and 66.7% possession, but Kennedy was stellar in net for Chivas USA. The Red Bulls had a goal disallowed when Luyindula put it in from close range following a foul suffered by Kennedy in the 66th minute. Kennedy then went onto make a sprawling stop on Wright-Phillips six minutes later, before jumping up to tip Dax McCarty's volley over the crossbar. In the 90th minute, Kennedy was able to poke away a deflected Bobby Convey cross.

However, New York was able to save a point in what was virtually the last play of the game. Five minutes into stoppage time, Eric Alexander's corner kick was met by Luyindula, whose deflected header zipped into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
