Lusson's Cluth Hitting Lifts Renegades

Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
It was a great night for one of Hudson Valley's newest players, Kyle Lusson. A 2010 undrafted free agent signee out of the University Texas, Lusson tied the game at 2-2 with an eighth inning single. Later, Lusson continued his heroics with a game winning, 13th inning hit that scored Burt Reynolds from second base. The Renegades earned their eleventh one-run win of the season, 3-2, over the Jamestown Jammers in front of 3,493 fans at Dutchess Stadium.
Hudson Valley won two out of three games in the series, and ends the night 41/2 games out of the New York Penn League's Wild Card spot.
The Renegades opened the scoring in the third inning when Chris Winder collected the first of his two doubles, then came home on Steven Tinoco's sacrifice fly.
The Jammers pushed one run across in the fifth inning and another in the sixth, to give them a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, Hudson Valley shortstop Dio Luis led off with his fourth double of the year, and scored on Lusson's first hit of the day. Neither team scored again until Lusson's dramatic, game-winning grounder to right field in the thirteenth.
Hudson Valley starter Miguel Sierra had one of his finest outings of the year, allowing just two runs (one earned) in 5.1 innings. Sierra struck out a career-high seven hitters and walked just one. Merrill Kelly (4.2 IP,2H, 0 R, BB, SO) relieved Sierra, and gave way to winning pitcher Robert Dickmann (W, 2-1, 3.0, H, 0R). Kelly and Dickmann combined for 7.2 shutout innings after Sierra's exit.
The Renegades captured their 15th win in their last 24 games, and their sixth victory in ten August games. The Renegades continue their six-game homestand tomorrow as they kickoff a three-game series vs the Vermont Lake Monsters (Washington Nationals), with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
