Clinton, IA - The offseason has brought a number of changes to the front office of the Clinton LumberKings. The newest addition to the staff is Sam Crews, who takes over as the Stadium and Sportsturf Manager. Dusty Krogman had filled the position the previous two years.
"We're very excited to bring Sam aboard as the newest member of the LumberKings family," said LumberKings General Manager Ted Tornow. "The facilities here at Ashford University Field are something we are very proud of and we're very confident in Sam's ability to keep that reputation moving forward."
Crews, an Iowa native, graduated from Kirkwood Community College in May 2009. He has spent the previous three seasons working for the Iowa Cubs Sports Turf Management team in a seasonal grounds crew/maintenance position. Along with his position with the I-Cubs, Crews worked on the grounds crew at Legacy Golf Course in 2011.
