Muskegon, MI (October 28th ) - Matej Paulovic had one goal and two assists to help the Lumberjacks pick up their first home win of the season against the Chicago Steel.
The first period was a fast-paced 20 minutes of hockey. Five minutes into the game, Will Graber scored his first of the season on the power play to give the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead. Carson Vance and Rem Pitlick picked up the assists on the goal. Ten minutes later, Mitch Lewandowski deflected a shot past Lumberjacks goalie Joey Daccord to level the game 1-1.
With under a minute to go in the first period, Trevor Hamilton blasted home a shot from the blue line to give the Jacks a 2-1 lead heading back in to the locker room. It was the Lumberjacks second power play goal of the game with assists credited to Matej Paulovic and Robbie DeMontis.
The second period was full of back and forth hockey until the Steel's Karch Bachman took a couple shots in the Lumberjacks zone, and Marcel Godbout was able to poke the puck in to the back of the net and knot the game 2-2. The Lumberjacks scored another late goal when Paulovic found DeMontis on the back door to regain the Lumberjacks lead.
The third period started with a couple of big, back to back saves by Lumberjacks netminder Joey Daccord.
