About Last Weekend

The Lumberjacks were able to snag one point in the USHL standings last weekend but ultimately fell in both contests to the Dubuque Fighting Saints at home. Friday's game was a back-and-forth battle, with the Saints maintaining the lead numerous times despite Muskegon's efforts to cut the deficit. Nick Peluso scored his first career goal in the USHL, along with a pair from Quinn Hutson, but it wasn't enough in the 7-to-4 loss for Muskegon. Saturday's match was a completely different story as the Jacks thoroughly outplayed the Saints, but still found a way to lose in the shootout despite outshooting Dubuque 30-to-21 over the course of 65 minutes. Tyler Hotson potted two goals and Jake Braccini netted his first goal as a Lumberjack, but the Saints came back from two goals down to defeat Muskegon 4-to-3 in a shootout. In the end, the Lumberjacks are now on a five-game losing streak, sinking to eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 1-6-1-2 on the year.
