
Lumberjacks Ready to Open Season

Bangor, ME- After months of preparation, the Bangor Lumberjacks will officially come to fruition when the first pitch in franchise history will be thrown out at 7:05 PM at Bicentennial Park in Allentown, PA against the Ambassadors.
Former Tampa Bay Devil Ray Jeff Sparks will get the opening day nod for the Lumberjacks. In 2001, as a member of the Albany (GA) Alligators of the All-American Association, Sparks went 8-2 with a 2.00 ERA, striking out 136 in 85.2 innings pitched.
After four game series in Allentown over the weekend, the Jacks travel to Brockton to take on the Rox for one game, before stopping in North Shore for a pair against the Spirit. The Jacks then continue to travel back north to open against the New Jersey Jackals.
Opening night at Mahaney Diamond is approaching the sellout point, as the Lumberjacks will debut before the greater Bangor area on Friday, May 30 at 7:00 PM. The American Red Cross is sponsoring fireworks following the game.
The Jacks home stand continues Saturday night at 7:00 PM, as Marianna Reeves and ERA Dawson Bradford present Magnetic Schedule Night. All fans in attendance will receive a magnetic Lumberjack schedule courtesy of Marianna Reeves and ERA Dawson Bradford. The Jacks finish up their series against the defending champion Jackals on Sunday at 2 PM for WEZQ 92.9 FM's Family Fun Day. All families will be able to purchase Family Packs which include: 4 Reserved Seats, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 Programs, Pre-game ball toss on the field and Post-game running of the bases plus an autograph session with the Lumberjack players.
The fun continues when the Elmira Pioneers come to town on Monday, June 2 at 7:00 PM. The Jacks take on the Pioneers on Tuesday for Ruby Tuesday's Two for Tuesday. Each fan purchasing a reserved or general admission seat will receive another for free, courtesy of Ruby Tuesday's. The Lumberjacks first home stand concludes on Wednesday against the Pioneers at 7:00 PM.
Tickets for opening night and all other nights are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (207) 947-1900. On game days, tickets may be purchased at the Lumberjacks store in the Bangor Mall until 3 PM. After 3 PM, they may be purchased at the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at Mahaney Diamond on the University of Maine campus.
