Bears Rock-n-Block Party to Debut May 30th

NEWARK, NJ, May 21-The Newark Bears baseball club announced today a series of free concerts to be held outside Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium this summer.

The Bears Rock-n-Block Party will take place on several Friday nights prior to Bears baseball games and will feature local bands playing live music from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Food and beverages will be available; and fun baseball contests will take place, adding to the festive atmosphere.

"We are looking to create the feel of a backyard summer barbecue right here in downtown Newark," said Josh Eagan, the Bears Director of Production. "We want to provide yet another incentive for fans and groups to come to Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium this summer."

The first Bears Rock-n-Block Party will take place on Friday, May 30th. The popular local band, Next Big Thing, is scheduled to kick off the series of concerts on that date.

Also scheduled are Change of Structure on June 6th, Angrichik on June 13th and Green to Think on June 20th.

The Bears are looking for additional bands to play at the Bears Rock-n-Block Party this summer. Bands that are interested should send their demos to: Rock-n-Block, c/o Newark Bears, 450 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102.
