Lumberjacks Pink The Rink October 30th

Who doesnt know someone who has been touched by breast cancer? Our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, and friends are fighting every day! One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That will be about 200 fans at an average Muskegon Lumberjacks hockey game! And about 50 of them will die from it.

Help the Lumberjacks take a stand! On Friday, October 30th, the Jacks will Pink the Rink! The team will wear special pink jerseys for the game. Join them in showing your support in the fight against breast cancer by wearing pink to the game!

The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to help local breast cancer patients through the Johnson Family Center for Cancer Care. The Lumberjacks will also donate $2 from every group ticket and $1 from every adult ticket purchased at the LC Walker Arena Box Office to help Muskegon area residents fighting breast cancer.

Is it your mother? Your sister? Your daughter? Or is it your best friend? Maybe youre the one battling breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, there will be approximately 192,370 new cases of breast cancer in American women and 1,910 American men in 2009. One in 32 women will die from breast cancer.

Come out Friday, October 30th as the Lumberjacks take on the Dayton Gems. The puck drops at 7 pm. Tickets are available through the LC Walker Arena Box Office or charge by phone at 231-726-2400. Advance ticket prices are $12.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors/students, and $5 for kids. All tickets are $1 more on the day of the game. Call 231-726-3879 for information on group rates.

The Lumberjacks are out to prove that real men wear pink and on Friday, theyll be fighting more than just the Dayton Gems! Theyll be looking to take a swing at breast cancer, too!
