Lumberjacks Announce Results from Pumpkin Auction

MUSKEGON, Michigan (October 30th) - The Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that they raised $788 dollars for the Muskegon Lumberjacks Charitable Foundation from the silent pumpkin auction that took place over the past weekend's home games.

"It was amazing to see the reaction coming from the fans about the pumpkins that the players created," said Community Relations Manager Andrea Clancy. "The parents expressed their excitement and how it was such a great idea to get the children excited about seeing the pumpkins, as well as the money going towards a great cause."

The silent auction was a two-day event where people could bid on their favorite pumpkins that were hand-painted by the Muskegon Lumberjacks players last Thursday evening. The money raised from the auction will go into the Muskegon Lumberjacks Charitable Foundation that will be used to help out with the Reading Caravan.

Another community event that took place this past weekend was this past Sunday afternoon where the Lumberjacks team went to Northway Lanes to go bowling with Ollie's Herd Kid's Club. This was the first of three private events where around 25 kids showed up and got to pick which player they wanted to bowl with for a few games. Also, Ollie the mascot was in attendance and the players signed autographs after bowling was completed.

"The kids were very excited to get a chance to have some fun with their favorite Lumberjacks players," said Andrea Clancy. "The players were very welcoming and helpful around the kids, and that made the event even more enjoyable for everyone."

In other Lumberjacks news, the game on Friday, February 22nd in Youngstown against the Phantoms at 7:15 pm has been moved to Sunday, February 24th at 1:00 pm.

The Lumberjacks wrap up their four-game home stand with a pair of games this weekend at 7:15 pm, respectively, with an Eastern Conference clash against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday and Saturday nights.
