Lumberjacks Add Another Rookie Outfielder

June 17, 2002 - Northeast League (NEL)
Adirondack Lumberjacks News Release

Glens Falls, NY- The Adirondack Lumberjacks of the Northern League announced today the release of former major leaguer Rob Ducey. With Ducey's release, the signing of rookie outfielder Junior Madina was made possible. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 5'10, 195 pound, Madina joins the Jacks after graduating from Stonehill College this past May. Madina arrived in Glens Falls last night and is expected to see playing time soon.

Signing the Boston, MA native brings the total number of rookies on the Lumberjacks roster to seven.

The Lumberjacks have rescheduled their Second Annual Boy Scout Campout Night for next Saturday, June 22 against the Brockton Rox. Poor camping conditions and poor conditions for the audio/visual equipment were to blame for the rescheduling. Game time on June 22 is 7 PM. Tickets for this and all remaining home games are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (518) 743-9618.
