LeBron's Contract Purchased by St. Louis

LeBron, who was drafted 19th overall by the Kansas City Royals in 1995, joined the Jacks earlier in the year following his release from the Seattle Mariners organization. For the Jacks, Juan hit .353 with 5 home runs and 20 RBI's in 102 at bats.

"I think it was only a matter of time before someone purchased Juan's contract. I'm happy he's getting another opportunity to hopefully play as well with the Cardinals as he did here," stated Jacks General Manager Curt Jacey.

LeBron will be assigned to the New Haven (CT) Ravens of the Eastern League, the Cardinals Double-A affiliate. He becomes the first Lumberjack to have his contract purchased by a major league organization this season. Three other Lumberjacks are currently in affiliated ball, including RHP James Gregg (High A- San Francisco), OF Mike Zywica (High A- Chicago White Sox), and LHP Joey Eischen who is currently in the Montreal Expos bullpen.

The Lumberjacks will be presenting Ladies Night on Wednesday, July 24 against the Allentown Ambassadors. There will be a special $2 GA cover charge for ladies. The girls will be entered to win special prizes from local businesses including Curves for Women and the Queensbury Hotel.
