Bangor Lumberjacks News Release

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks have activated pitcher Danny Miller from the inactive list, the Northeast League club announced today. Miller was placed on the IL just before the 2003 season began with arm trouble. To make room for Miller on the roster, the club released catcher Daling Rengifo.

Danny went 9-5 with a 3.42 ERA as a member of the Lumberjacks starting rotation last year. He struck out 90 batters in 102.2 innings pitched on his way to winning the Northeast League's Rookie Pitcher of the Year. In his first appearance this season, the lefty went 3 innings, giving up three earned runs, while striking out two in getting the loss against the Elmira Pioneers.

Rengifo, a former product of the Chicago White Sox system, was signed out of the Northeast League tryout camp in March. The catcher did not make a regular season appearance for the Lumberjacks before his release. Daling has since signed with the Lincoln (NE) Saltdogs of the Northern League.

The Lumberjacks also announced that bullpen catcher Paul Powell has left the club to also sign with the Saltdogs.
