Luke Amell Reassigned to the North American Hockey League

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced the reassignment of forward, Luke Amell to the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

Amell, of Mars, Pennsylvania made his USHL debut with the Lancers back on September 24th, 2022 at the USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania which resulted in a 3-2 overtime loss to the 18U Team USA squad.

In total, the 6-foot-3 winger played in 23 games in Omaha, collecting a point in the form of a goal (1G-0A-1P). That goal occurred on December 17th, 2022 in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Waterloo Black Hawks, sending the Lancers into the Christmas break. On top of his goal, Amell accumulated a +1 rating, along with 48 penalty minutes.

Before his time with the Lancers, the Pennsylvania native spent the 2021-22 season in the NAHL with the Aberdeen Wings. Playing in 36 games and notching four points in the process (1G-3A-4P), aiding the Wings to third place in the central division with a 31-24-3-2 record, along with sweeping the Austin Bruins in the opening round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs, before falling in four games to the St. Cloud Norsemen in the second round.
