Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

The Waterloo Black Hawks won their seventh consecutive Friday the 13th game, defeating the Tri City Storm 4-2 at Young Arena.

Black Hawk Captain Brock Montpetit opened the scoring at 9:34 of the first period, on a set-up from Tyler Barnes, after the Hawks had intercepted a dump-in try on the other end of the ice. Both Montpetit and Barnes would put their names on the scoresheet again; Barnes assisted on Patrick Divjak's power play goal at 15:19, then had a helper on Montpetit's second goal at 16:31. To cap his second consecutive four-point game, Barnes scored at 12:07 of the second period.

Tri City rallied in the third with scores by Blake Coleman and Radoslav Illo, but C.J. Motte stopped the other 30 shots he faced in the appearance.

Waterloo's Friday the 13th winning streak dates back to 2002. There will not be the possibility for another Friday the 13th game in the regular season until January of 2012. However, the Hawks hope their luck continues during a visit to Lincoln Saturday at 7:05.
