Lowell Devils Announce 2009-10 Schedule

LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils, American Hockey League affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, have announced their 2009-10 regular-season schedule. The Devils will open their fourth AHL season on the road against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, October 3 at 7:00 PM.

Lowell will begin the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, October 10 at 7:00PM at Tsongas Arena as they face off against the Worcester Sharks. Twenty-nine of the Devils' 40 home games will be played on the weekend, including eight contests on Friday, 12 Saturday games and nine Sunday matinees.

All Sunday home games will start at 4:00PM, with the exception of Feb. 28 vs. Hartford which will begin at 5:00PM. The Devils will play two Saturday afternoon games at 1:30PM: Nov. 21 vs. Manchester and Jan. 16 vs. Portland. All remaining home games are set for a 7:00PM start time.

Lowell will enjoy the longest homestand in its history with seven consecutive games at the Tsongas Arena March 19-31: Fri., Mar. 19 vs. Providence; Sat., Mar. 20 vs. Portland; Sun., Mar. 21 vs. Worcester; Wed., Mar. 24 vs. Manchester; Fri., Mar. 26 vs. Springfield; Fri., Mar. 28 vs. Bridgeport; and Wed., Mar. 31 vs. Manchester.

Immediately preceding the homestand, the Devils will play a season-high five-game road trip March 6-16 that will take them to Springfield, Providence, Syracuse, Hartford and Portland.

As a special highlight this year, two Wednesday games will be played at New Jersey's Prudential Center, home of the NHL's New Jersey Devils. The Lowell Devils will take the Newark ice for their own "Battle of the Hudson" versus the Hartford Wolf Pack, an affiliate of the New York Rangers on Jan. 6 and Feb. 3 at 7:00 PM. Lowell Devils season ticket holders will receive information on both games with their season ticket packages.

The Devils will play Atlantic Division opponents 56 times, including five games at home and on the road versus Manchester, Portland, Providence and Worcester, and four home and road games against Bridgeport, Hartford and Springfield. Lowell will also face each team in the East Division twice, once at home and once on the road, with the exception of Norfolk, whom they will play two times each at home and on the road.
