Loudoun United FC Sign Veteran Midfielder Drew Skundrich Through 2025

Leesburg, VA. - Loudoun United FC today announced that the club has signed Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC midfielder Drew Skundrich to a two-year contract, pending league and federation approval.
Skundrich, 28, joins the Red-and-White with experience competing in the USL Championship for Colorado Switchbacks FC, Bethlehem Steel FC, and Sacramento Republic FC. He has competed in four seasons in the USL Championship in his career. Skundrich also played two seasons with D.C. United in Major League Soccer (MLS) where he notched over two thousand minutes in 39 matches played.
"Drew [Skundrich] is one of the top midfielders in the USL Championship and will add a lot of quality and experience to our team," said Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach. "He covers a lot of ground and is a proven winner. We look forward to adding him to our 2024 team and will be a key midfielder to build our foundation around."
In 2023, Skundrich recorded two goals for Colorado in 33 USL Championship matches played. The midfielder created 23 chances and completed 80.2% of his passes.

Skundrich was selected 40th overall by the LA Galaxy in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft and signed his first professional contract with the Bethlehem Steel FC (now Philadelphia Union II) in the USL Championship on March 14, 2018. In his first season in the USL, Skundrich scored two goals and recorded three assists in 28 USL appearances, including two appearances in the USL playoffs. Following his successful first season, Skundrich then signed with the Sacramento Republic on December 10, 2018, and in two seasons with the Republic, the midfielder scored four goals and recorded five assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Prior to his professional career, Skundrich played four years of collegiate soccer at Stanford University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I from 2014 to 2017. During his time at Stanford, he made 82 appearances, scoring nine goals, and recording 13 assists. The midfielder, who served as team captain during his junior and senior year, played an integral role in Stanford's three consecutive NCAA Division I National Championships (2015-2017) and was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team and Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Second Team in 2017.
Skundrich is married to US Women's National Soccer Team midfielder Andi Sullivan, who is from Lorton, Virginia.
