Louisville, Ky. - Louisville City Football Club is pleased to announce an extended broadcast agreement with iHeartMedia. iHeartMedia Louisville will continue as the local radio broadcast partner for the 2020 USL Championship season.
"We are excited that our fans get to follow our games on the road and at home on iHeartRadio Louisville stations and on the iHeartRadio app," said Louisville City FC President, Brad Estes. "The reach of iHeartRadio in the Louisville market is tremendous and having the ability to stream our games through the app is a great feature for our fans."
"Our extended deal solidifies the strong partnership between Louisville City FC and iHeartMedia Louisville's 840-WHAS, 790-WKRD and 1080-WKJK," said Earl Jones, Metro President for iHeartMedia Kentucky-Indiana. "Lou-City continues to be an important partner and asset for us and we look forward to sharing the upcoming seasons with our listeners throughout the community."
After five seasons of playing its home games at Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville City FC will open Lynn Family Stadium, the club's new soccer-specific stadium. The first USL Championship home game will be on April 11 vs. Birmingham Legion. All home game broadcasts will originate from the new radio booth at the stadium.
"We are thrilled to continue broadcasting the excitement of Louisville City FC to fans across Kentuckiana," said Josh Everett, Director of Spoken-Word Programming for iHeartMedia Louisville. "iHeartMedia Louisville's leading personalities will deliver the premium and comprehensive coverage Lou-City fans desire all season long."
Louisville City's new deal with iHeartMedia will include the popular Soccer City Radio program each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on 790 KRD. The program will take to the road this season for the first time, as hosts Howie Lindsey and Lance McGarvey join soccer fans at new locations each Saturday throughout the season.
